QCW Program
We are pleased to be able to share with you the progress your Board and Executive have made since we last met. While COVID has created many challenges for us it has also opened some doors that have been challenging.
First and foremost is the completion of our QCW (Quality Certified Wine) program. This program mimics the VQA program with a similar process and measurements. Fruit and Mead Wineries will be able to submit their wines to the BC Wine Authority for testing and certification. Once certified you will be able to use the QCW logo on the certified wine as a mark of fine quality. As part of the development of this program we submitted several dozen wines for analysis and most passed. The one that did not pass was for a fault in the winemaking process (refermentation) that is easily fixable.
There are several documents that will need your attention. They include:

Your support of this program will help the fruit and mead wine sector gain credibility in the consumers mind and we encourage you to take advantage of the program. For most of us the cost will be $300 per year which will provide you with the full services of the BC Wine Authority and the testing of up to 5 wines. Additional wines can be tested at a cost of $100 per wine.
